Our Story
At KPD Automation we are fulfilling our dream to connect the automotive industry with the outstanding Automation engineers in Bulgaria – PLC programmers who can take full responsibility for complex automation projects.

Not an Agency. A Committed Partner.
We’re not a staffing agency. We hire our engineers directly, invest in their training, ensure the most competitive payment rates, and handle their travel, accommodation, and insurance.

Real Projects. Real Progress.
Founded in June 2024 with just one engineer and no clients, KPD Automation has grown to four top-tier engineers.

Control Design

We create robust and modular PLC code tailored to your project. Our Siemens programmers work within automotive standards (e.g., VASS, Ford) using TIA Portal and WIN CC.

Commissioning

We ensure your automation software is fully aligned with the machine’s electrical and mechanical design, leading to efficient commissioning and smoother production ramp-up.

Post-warranty support

We offer online and on-site post-warranty maintenance of automated lines, individual machines and robotic cells.

Automation Engineer

Dimitar Naplatanov

Dimitar’s expertise spans SIMATIC Step 7, TIA Portal, and WinCC SCADA, and he has successfully delivered projects involving Sinamics drives, Keyence vision systems, and custom HMI interfaces. Dimitar played a key role in the development and commissioning of Ford’s Blue Oval battery stacking line in Germany, showcasing his ability to contribute to complex, high-standard automation environments.

Prior to joining KPD Automation, Dimitar worked with leading companies like Buwelco AD, Milara International, and Aiger Engineering, where he led electrical installations and testing of PCB systems. He holds international training credentials, including an Erasmus+ placement with Mitsubishi Electric, and brings a strong foundation in both programming and electrical systems integration.

Automation Engineer

Svilen Valev

Svilen Valev is a seasoned PLC Programmer and Electronics Engineer with a rich background in industrial automation and control systems. With more than 15 years of professional experience across sectors including automotive, marine, and energy, he brings deep technical expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and system commissioning.

He has delivered complex automation solutions using a range of platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, Omron CX-One, Allen Bradley RSLogix5000, and Schneider Electric systems. Svilen has worked on high-profile projects including the FORD Blue Oval battery stacking line at GROB-WERKE in Germany and marine ventilation systems on vessels worldwide. His ability to troubleshoot, test, and optimize systems on-site has made him a valuable asset in both European and global projects.

With strong programming skills in Python, BASH scripting, C, and embedded systems, Svilen also integrates software development into his automation work. He holds an engineering degree in electronics from the Technical University of Varna and is fluent in Bulgarian and proficient in English. His track record includes roles with companies in Scandinavia and Latin America.

Automation Engineer

Mihail Kolev

Mihail is an experienced automation engineer and team lead with over a decade of hands-on work in PLC and DCS systems across Europe. His background spans industries such as paper manufacturing, energy, wastewater treatment, and automotive — with a strong focus on replacing and upgrading complex legacy systems in Germany, the UK, and France.

At KPD Automation, Nikolay plays a key role in shaping technical processes, mentoring engineers, and ensuring each solution meets the highest standards of reliability, safety, and compliance. He has deep expertise in SIMATIC Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC, and SCADA platforms, and is well-versed in industry protocols including Profibus, CAN, Modbus, and OPC UA.

With proven experience in VASS 6 and Ford FAST standards, Nikolay helps bridge the gap between concept and commissioning — delivering well-structured control systems and leading projects that require both precision and flexibility.

Outside of work, Nikolay is passionate about cars and motorcycles, enjoys swimming, reading and watching movies.

Automation Engineer

Nikolay Denev

Nikolay Dimitrov Denev is a seasoned PLC programmer and electrical engineer with over two decades of experience in industrial automation across Bulgaria and Northern Europe. From designing electromechanical systems to leading automation teams in production-critical environments, he brings a rare combination of deep technical knowledge and hands-on leadership.

Throughout his career, Nikolay has worked on large-scale automation projects in manufacturing, energy, and food production — including system upgrades from SIMATIC S5 to S7, integration of AS-i and Profibus networks, and SCADA development for real-time data collection and visualization. He has led teams at Kronospan, Skretting AS in Norway, and Kastamonu Bulgaria, with a consistent focus on process optimization, predictive maintenance, and system reliability.

At KPD Automation, Nikolay contributes his expertise in advanced Siemens platforms (TIA Portal, WinCC, Step 5/7), networked control systems, and multi-user engineering environments. His broad knowledge of drive commissioning and robot-assisted automation makes him a key asset for complex integration projects.

He speaks English, Norwegian, and Russian, and his adaptability across cultures and industries has made him highly effective in both fieldwork and cross-functional collaboration.

CEO, Founder

Lina Yaneva

With a background in Sales and Marketing for tech companies, I’ve always focused on understanding what clients truly need. I co-founded KPD Automation to solve a clear pain point in the industrial automation sector: the shortage of well-trained, project-ready PLC programmers who can work independently on complex tasks.

At KPD, we bridge that gap by building small, specialized teams of automation engineers, trained to meet the high standards of the European machine building industry. Thanks to our experienced technical consultants, we work closely with our clients to align engineering efforts with project goals, industry standards, and on-site requirements — ensuring seamless integration and reliable execution.

CTO, Founder

Boris Yanev

As a PLC programmer and electrical engineer with over a decade of experience in industrial automation, I’ve worked on high-complexity projects for major OEMs across Europe — including GROB, Ford, VW, and BMW. From hydro power plants to state-of-the-art battery assembly lines, I’ve led the programming, commissioning, and fine-tuning of systems that demand precision, speed, and reliability.

I co-founded KPD Automation to build a team that understands how high the bar is in the automotive and machine building industries. My role is to lead the technical side — training our engineers, setting standards, and ensuring every project is executed to the same quality I’ve delivered on-site throughout Germany and Eastern Europe.

Whether we’re working with VASS, Ford FAST, or fully custom solutions, my focus is always the same: clean software architecture, robust integration, and engineers you can rely on when it counts.

Swimming, camping, motorcycling, cycling, robots and bread baking are my hobbies lately.
